Regarding seeing the Crab Pulsar, I mentioned seeing it “blink” using a shutter made by Dan Gray when we, and ten other observers had a night on the 92-inch Bok telescope on Kitt Peak about 12 years ago. Probably the most awesome thing I seen through any telescope. Without the shutter, the Pulsar looked like a steady point of light - and it’s really faint. Approximately 16th magnitude, I’ve been able to barely detect it with a 20-inch scope. Being in the Crab makes it tougher! Howard Banich
